Geoff Smith

Geoff Smith began studying Martial Arts when he was 8 years old at his local RSL. Beginning with Judo, he progressed to Jujutsu before eventually discovering "Ninjutsu" aged 17.
Geoff trained in the Wayne Roy Ninjutsu Schools and travelled to Brisbane to train under Wayne Roy personally for several years before eventually returning to Sydney, where he met Anthony Switzer and discovered the Bujinkan. He trained with Anthony for a year and in 1998 travelled to Japan for several months to train with Hatsumi Sensei. He has since returned to Japan to train with Hatsumi Sensei and many of the Japanese Shihan.

Geoff has hosted many seminars in Sydney with some of the top Bujinkan Instructors from around the world and from within Australia. On several occasions he has packed up his students (what a drive!) and travelled to Queensland to train with Shidoshi Duncan Mitchell and his school, and to attend Seminars held up there.

Geoff was graded to 8th Dan on his latest visit to Japan (March 2005) and also holds a current shidoshi license.)

Dean Peters

Like Geoff, Dean Peters started out in the Wayne Roy system. Dean instructed and ran classes for Wayne Roy in Sydney for many years before coming over to the Bujinkan in early 1997. Dean travelled to Japan with Geoff in 1999 for a couple of months training at the Honbu Dojo with Hatsumi Sensei.

Dean has spent a great deal of time studying different sword arts and researching ancient Japanese history.

He currently holds the rank of 4th dan. He teaches at Turramurra.

Scott Brailey

Scott Brailey helped to found one of Australia's most popular Karate Styles, but became disillusioned when it became highly commercialised. Highly skilled, Scott is an ex - Australian Universities Karate Champion. Scott was looking for something "more" from Martial arts and in 1997 met Geoff and Dean. He began training with them regularly and in 2001 attained the level of 1st dan (Shodan)(Scott was graded by Shidoshi Rod Hodgson in December 2001) Scott is an excellent example of how someone coming from a "hard" or "rigid" style can over time, with diligence, become soft and flowing.
